Halloween is just around the corner!  What are your thoughts on Saturday vs. Sunday to celebrate?  Anyone want to have some hot cider, hotdogs, or other munchies for our little trick or treaters?

  1. Halloween
So I've already been asked by a handful of people if everyone is trick or treating on Sunday. I'm originally from Ky and we've always just did it on the day it falls. Is it different here?

  2. I asked this question on Facebook a few days ago, and the general consensus seems to be Sunday. I know last time Halloween fell on a Sunday I had Trick or Treaters both days. My kids are going on Sunday.

  3. Wouldn't it be great to coordinate some houses to have some hot chocolate or cider? Our neighborhood has always been fun at Halloween. Maybe we can talk it up here and see where it goes!

  5. Hey all...First I want to say thanks to Helen for setting up this website and getting the sign at the entrance to the subdivision. What a great idea this is!

Secondly, Helen mentioned hot chocolate or cider on Halloween, and I wanted to tell everyone about something we did growing up that was so much fun. Back in my day a lot of subdivisions had Garden Clubs...nowadays we have HOA's! But each year a different house would have a set up in the driveway where we served hot dogs, chips and drinks and after everyone was done trick-or-treating, everyone would congregate at this house for a little Halloween social.

  6. I think that is a fantastic idea!!! If we can get some more folks on our blog - we can coordinate some houses to have different items - or in a cul-de-sac! What are your thoughts???

  9. Hi guys. Wow, who knew we had a subdivision blog...how great. We've been here over a year and didn't know. Someone should put flyers on mailboxes to get more people involved!! As far as trick-or-treating, it seems like most people are doing it on Sunday.

  10. Sunday is fine with me, but I understand other subdivisions are doing Saturday. I like the idea of hot chocolate and cider and even the cookout. My kids were excited when I mentioned this, since they are too old to trick-or-treat. Nobody ever comes down our cul-de-sac, so it would be nice to interact with our neighbors.

  11. I may try to put a sign on our blog sign about Halloween so others will give some input - but looks to me like Sunday it is!

Be sure to add us on Facebook so you will get updates there as well (look on right of blog and press Like).
